Emma Jo and the Poets Down Here: Music

Tough Enough

This is a song about loss. People deal with loss in different ways; I write songs. I hope that everyone who's ever "lost something good" can find themselves in "Tough Enough."
It's gotta be the worst
Feeling in the world
Everyone thinks they understand
They've been there before
Why can't they see?
Why can't they see?

What an amusement park
Of laughter and pain
They don't know half of what I feel
They say in the end I'll gain
Why can't they see?
Why can't they see?

I guess in the end we'll all grow
And find a better reason to live for
When you lose something good
It ain't easy to do
But if you survive
It ain't so bad, kinda makes you glad
It made you tough enough
Whoa, tough enough

I guess I should practice what I preach
I'm still falling apart
It's funny how they think they know
What I feel in my heart
Why can't they see?
Why can't they see?

I guess I should pick up the pieces
And try to move on
They tell me it should be simple
Because I'm so strong
Why can't they see?
Why can't they see?

**repeat chorus**

I'm gonna move on
Start my life over again
I'm gonna fight
Fight my way to the end
Someday I'll look back
And thank God it happened so soon
But for now I'll struggle day to day
Longing for you

**repeat chorus**
