Emma Jo and the Poets Down Here: Music
If We Don't Have Each Other

There's a man in the corner booth
And he's looking kind of torn
I don't know who he is
I've never seen him here before
I'd like to go and talk to him
At least find out his name
Or ask him what's wrong
And tell him that I feel his pain
The red-headed waitress
Fills my drink, gives me a smile
She looks so tired
But she don't get off for awhile
She's got a ring on her finger
I guess she's got a family
I know even if she's content
She's not who she wanted to be
Who am I to judge, who am I to blame
Seems like this world's wrapped up in shame
But we're all nothing more than people
If we don't have each other we don't have anything
I guess it's hard sometimes
To do everything that's right
Life'll slap you in the face
You have to be ready for a fight
The waitress walks to the corner booth
The man is ready to go
He picks up his coat and says to her
"I"ll see you at home"
